Wakhi Festival Kicks off at Lok Virsa, Islamabad

Islamabad, December 9: The Wakhi Festival Kicked off today at Lok Virsa. The festival will continue for five days, ending on 13th December.
The program includes presentation of folk songs, dance, music and a seminar on Wakhi language. Traditional food stalls, handicraft stalls and other similar activities have also been arranged.
A large number of folk artists have come to Islamabad to present the Wakhi Pamiri culture.

Congratulations to the organizer’s for arranging such an event which will help to represent our culture and tradition. The only thing we always afraid about is security situation in Pakistan for such gathering’s, I personally pray for the success of this event. Cheers

Great achievement by GECA,congratulations and hope to make such colourful events more sustainable and effective.Please think to do such events in mega city like Karachi, Lahore and Gilgit to revive wakhi culture and language.I will be honoured if I am given any task in this regard specially in poetry.
