Speaker GBLA apeals for relief goods for Hunza-Nagar

Gilgit August 23: Speaker Gilgit – Baltistan Legislative Assmebly Wazir Baig has said that Hunza – Nagar has not received as much relief goods as required.
Talking to journalists in Gilgit Wazir Baig said that the flood victims in Hunza – Nagar need essential food items medicines at the earliest. The district has received some relief goods from various national and international agencies but that is not enough to relieve the affected people of sufferings. He said that the relief goods received from various national and international donors would be distributed among the affectees with the help of local relief committees in a transparent manner.
He reiterated that the landslide affectees of Hussainabad Hunza have not received any relief yet. In Hunza-Nagar people have lost theır houses, property and busınesses due to the recent raıns and floods.
He further said that relief items worth 20 million rupees will reach the region within a couple of days from China. The relief will include four, rice, pulses and other essential food items, he said. These relief goods would be distributed among the lake affected people of Gojal Tehsil, he further said.
He said that the repair work on the bridges located near Khyber and Bely, Gojal, is underway and will be completed soon.
