Gilgit – Hunza section of KKH blocked due to landslides

Gilgit, September 10: Landslides and debris flow at several places has blocked the Gilgit – Hunza section of Karakuram Highway for all types of traffic.

According to sources a major landslide took place near Chalt on Saturday, blocking the road and stranding hundreds of commuters.

Reports of blockades due to debris flow and landslides have been reported from at least four other locations of Hunza – Nagar. The CRBC employees have, reportedly, started working on re-opening of the road.

According to NHA, clearing of the road between Chalt and Goro (Jaglote) might be completed by Monday.
