Open House session of Aga Khan University (AKU) for admission procedure kicked in Chitral.

CHITRAL:  The Aga Khan University (AKU) Karachi conducted a campaign for creating awareness among the students of Chitral regarding procedure of admission in different departments. The campaign was held with the name of Open House its first session was held in Government High School Booni some 80 KM from here. Suleman Ali Mahmood Manager university residencies student’s affairs, Miss Saadia Siraj assistant Manager Registrar office, Miss Salima and other briefed the students in their presentations respectively. They said that doors of AKU open for all eligible students regardless of gender, religion, race, creed, color or domicile. As well as there is no quota no reserved seats no admission against donations. All admission are based on merit and potential for leadership. Need base financial assistance is also available for students admission in all programs. They said that his highness prince Karim Aga Khan has open this university with a aim to create leadership in Pakistan.

The facilitators briefed the students about admission in different programs from graduation to Ph.D program including MBBS, Nursing, Professional Development, Education etc. They said that students securing 60% marks in F.Sc are eligible to appear in entry test for MBBS program. Admission test will be held in Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, etc. They also briefed the students about date of submission of admission forms for different programs. The facilitators highlighted contribution of Professional Development Centers for promoting and enhancing teaching skill of teachers. PDC Chitral is one of them which established in 2003 and rendering mark able services. They said that AKU also linked and affiliated with Oxford, Toronto, Alberta and other international universities as students of AKU and these universities can complete their education programs easily. They distributed registration forms among the students and other material of stationary free of cost. Main objective of this open House campaign was to aware students of remote areas like Chitral regarding admission procedures of different programs and career building (from under graduate to Ph.D including in medical college). And to come forward them for imparting their standard and quality education and to enable them to become a great leader in their practical life and to serve the nation and country. A large number of students from different educational institutions participated in this session.

(The Age Khan University open house was formally inaugurated at GHS Booni on Saturday.The speakers on the occasion thanked all the participants of the house on behalf of AKU and presented presentations on “A career for me.”

While raising three questions, they defined career in global world perspective and gave the tips how to search and select a career with which one would be satisfied. “Hard work is key to success and choosing a career is a difficult decision making task in life”. It, therefore, should be selected with care and consideration.

Sadia Siraj, one of the speakers, spoke on the admission process, criteria and qualifications for undergraduate programs of Bachelor of Science in Nursing , Post-RN Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and five-year MBBS program.

Another presentation was made on admission and eligibility criteria for the Master and Doctorial Program in Education. Detailed information was also given on “Short courses in the centre of English language” for the interested candidates.

After answering the questions of the participants, the speakers shared AKU sample test papers with the students and guided them about the tips how to attempt and solve them within the specified time frame.

A representative from AKU after the end of the open house provided the students with all the telephone numbers, postal addresses and email addresses for each and every program which AKU offers for the students of pre-medical particularly and others generally)
