Labour groups clash at spillway of dammed Hunza River, police arrest 4

Hunza, October 1: Two groups of labourers belonging to Nagar Valley have clashed at spillway of the dammed Hunza River. Police has arrested four labourers.

According to details, two groups of labourers belonging to Nagar Valley clashed with each other on a petty matter. As a result of the clash one labourer, identified as Hajat Ali, was highly injured after being thrown in the river. He was later rescued and shifted to a hospital in Gilgit.

This is the second major  incident of violent clash between groups of labourers working around the dammed Hunza River.

Local people have demanded screening of the labourers to identify criminal elements and for recovery of arms and ammunition.
