Skrdu: Students taking part in the National Spelling Bee competition
We are truly short of words, after the phenomenal response received from Skardu. A warm welcome from the local people of Skardu, and the schools. It was truly a breath taking experience, and an absolute delight to have entered, captured and conquered the Skardu Gilgit Baltistan Region through Dawn in Education National Spelling Bee Competition.
As part of its efforts to increase the outreach of the programme, the competition for the first time was conducted at Skardu with a participation of over 35 schools and approximately 270 students from not only Skardu City but also surrounding areas of Khaplu, Roundu, Jamba Skardu and Satpara. An orientation session with the principals, teachers and teams of all the participating schools was carried out on the 7th of October at the Grace Public School.
