Construction work stopped on the “road” between Gulmit and Hussaini

Hussaini, January 31: Work on the construction of a jeepable track between Hussaini and Gulmit village in the disaster struck upper Hunza region of Gojal valley has been stopped for unknown reason, after some ‘inaugural’ pomp and show.
According to details the district administration of Hunza – Nagar had started work on construction of a jeepbale track to ease movement between the two villages, in absence of the Karakuram Highway, which was caused to submerge by the dammed Hunza River.
The local people have criticized the contractor and district administration for failing to tackle the issue seriously. Hundreds of people commute between the two village on foot due to suspension of boat services.
