Five youth groups and village committees formed in Chitral as part of peace building efforts

Chitral, April 7: South Asia Partnership Pakistan (SAP PK), Citizen Action for Peace and Development (CAPD) in collaboration with Rural support program (RCDP) held a session to establish and organize different youth and elders joint groups for maintaining peaceful environment of Chitral and its sustainable development.

Addressing on the occasion program coordinator Allah Noor Afridi said that SAP always support youth as well as elder and senior citizens of the country and motivate them by their capacity building to play vital role in peace and development. He said that RCDP has established 5 village committees and 5 youth groups comprising over 40 persons and enhanced their skill and capacity to motivate other people in their territory for sustainable development and peace. He said that we always onboard local people because they know better their problems and its possible solution. He said that we train these youth in different sector to sensitize them about development works in their area and how to get fund from the elected representatives and concerned authorities. As well as to create awareness among the masses about delivery of social services of line department in their areas. These trained youth will bring different issues into the notice of high ups of concerned departments for its settlement.

He said that if our young generation is well equipped and aware they can ask for their right and raised issues through their parliamentarians for development of their area. We work for advocacy and good governance. Salma Haq program office said on this occasion that these youths are our ambassadors and that is why SAP, CAPD work for capacity building, career counseling of youth to sensitize them about their duty and rights. Some leaders of youth group complained of no developmental work in their areas since long and after this training they will able to get their rights from their elected representatives. Engineer Temour Shah Coordinator of RCDP said that main objective of this program to organize different groups of youth as well as of elder people comprising over senior citizens to train them for motivating other people for strengthening participatory in developmental works of the area and for maintaining of peace. He highlighted aim and objectives of the program that main objective of establishing these youth group is to restore peace in the area and to play vital role for development. A large number of youth and elders members of these groups participated in the awareness session.
