PMLN threatens to challenge charging of fees at GB hospitals in court

Rawalpindi, April 16: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz(PMLN) has announced to file a writ petition against the imposition of fees at the government-run hospitals in the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Addressing a function here in Gilgit the Chief Organizer of PML (N) Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman said that the collection of fees from patients in the government hospital was very regrettable and his party would move to court if the government did not withdraw it with in the period of one month.
“The collection of fees from poor patients is like collection of tax” he added.
He said “the collection of fees without taking approval from assembly is illegal” adding that there was lack of facilities in the hospital therefore to charge the patients was not less than tyranny.
