Job Title: Social Organizer
Duty Station: Gilgit
Organization: Snow Leopard Foundation
Reporting Line: Country Program Manager (CPM)
The Social organizer will be responsible for the awareness and introduction of the program in the selected communities. He will be primarily responsible for the social organization, mobilizing community resources and awareness raising to achieve the program objectives. Key responsibilities will include:
▶ Plan and conduct regular field visits and community meetings.
▶ Brief communities about the program, its objective and approach in accordance with SLF’s strategy and requirements.
▶ Motivate local community for helping themselves by mobilization and pooling their resources.
▶ Mediate and resolve conflicts, if emerged, among VOs members related to the program implementation or on the program activities.
▶ Raise community awareness about issues related to environment and conservation of snow leopards and other carnivorous.
▶ Organize community training workshops and celebrate international days.
▶ Collect data as required by the program management team.
▶ Prepare village or valley profiles.
▶ Monitor and report all the program activities being carried out in the program area
▶ Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of ongoing activities as per SLF requirements.
For the job position, a degree from university in social sciences and having at least 2 years’ experience will be considered necessary.
Community mobilization and organization skills are pre-requisite for the position. In addition, fluency to speak local languages will be essential.
