AKYSB Josh Games opens in Gilgit

Gilgit, Sep. 9, 2013: The Josh Games 2013 kicked off at Shah Karim Hostel Gilgit on Sunday in a colorful event. Alwaiz Fida Ali Aesar lit the flame of Josh game 2013 being organized by the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board for Pakistan (AKYSB-P).
President Ismaili Regional Council for Gilgit Col. (Rtd.) Ubaid Ullah Baig chaired the opening ceremony. In his opening remarks, he praised the role of AKYSB in providing platform for youth to explore their talents. He quoted the examples of Rahimullah Baig and Diana Baig who excelled at national and international levels. Chairperson AKYSB Sosan Aziz said that AKYSB will continue to engage youth in healthy activities.
Athletes from different parts of Gilgit-Baltistan will be participating in the one-month long events including cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and other outdoor and indoor games.
Renowned religious scholar and intellectual, Aitemadi Fida Ali Aisar, inaugurated the games by lighting the JOSH Games lamp, held by Paralympics Gold Medalist, Rahimullah Baig.
