Chaudhary Barjees Tahir reaches Gilgit, will attend Silk Route Festival in Gulmit, Gojal

Gilgit, October 28: Chaudhary Barjees Tahir, the Federal Minister for Gilgi-Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs, reached here today. He met PMLN’s regional leaders and workers during a meeting held at the party secretariat. He is scheduled to visit Gulmit, Gojal, to attend the concluding ceremony of the Silk Route Festival 2013.

Addressing the party workers here, Chaudhary Birjees Tahir said that the workers’ hard work and sincerity has paid off and despite of unfavorable conditions the party has been able to win two seats from Baltistan. He congratulated the party workers for what he called an “achievement”.

Chaudhary said that cases of corruption will be dealt with iron hands. He said that four secretaries, top bureaucrats, have been transferred out of GB on the basis of complaints received from different quarters. He also warned others to avoid corruption or face the law.

Party leaders Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, Fida Muhammad Nashad, Sultan Ali and others were also present at the occasion. Hafeez said that the PPP-led coalition government in GB has failed to serve the public. He accused the government of rewarding PPP workers in violation of merit.

In the evening Chaudhary reached Hunza and attended a dinner at the Serena Hotel, hosted in honour of the guests.

  1. All GBIANS appreciate all those efforts of leaders, any party worker and management working for good governance and making GB corruption free zone. Prior to this GB was distorted through bad governance and corruption it needs to mend on emergency bases.
