FIR registered against GB Health Minister for threatening Assistant Commissioner

Gilgit, November 9: Police has registered a case against Gilgit-Baltsitan’s Health Minister, Gulbar Khan, on the request of Assistant Commissioner of Tangir.

According to details, the Health Minister had reportedly threatened the AC with dire consequences during a meeting held in Chilas in which he and others were informed about cancellation a scheduled tour of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Diamer.

The Minister had burst into anger and reportedly scolded the Assistant Commissioner for not informing him in advance about cancellation of the PM’s visit. He had traveled from Gilgit to Chilas to receive the PM. In a fit of anger the Minister had threatened the AC with dire consequences.

Now the police have registered a case against the Minister for threatening a government official, attempting to injure him and obstruction of official business. A senior Police official has confirmed that cases have been registered under clauses 186, 189 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The Minister might be arrested after the registration of FIR.

It is pertinent to note that on many occasions the elected members of the GBLA have hurled threats and abuses at each other as well as government officials and also journalists. One GBLA member had threatened to blow the assembly hall.
