Opportunity for Gems and Jewelry business leaders to visit USA
Islamabad, February 25: (PR) The U.S. Department of Commerce will host a select delegation of 18 Pakistani gems and jewelry business leaders for a visit to the United States from May 27 to June 10. The delegation will visit Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas to receive training in industry best practices and to participate in a leading gems and jewelry trade show. During the visit, program participants will also develop individual business plans to help enhance their company operations upon return to Pakistan.
The training is part of the Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program, which supports U.S.-Pakistan trade and Pakistan’s ongoing efforts toward increased economic and export diversification. The U.S. Department of Commerce sponsored similar SABIT training for the Pakistani gems and jewelry and surgical instruments industry in 2010 and 2012.
Delegates for this year’s program will be selected from a competitive application and interview process, which will remain open untilFriday, February 28. The application is free of charge, and will be available for download at www.trade.gov/sabit and http://www.commerce.gov.pk/.
