Gojal: Revisiting the disaster ravaged Ayeenabad

Ayeenabad was destroyed by the water surge caused by the damming of the Hunza River as a result of the January 4, 2010 landslide. The water has receded since then but life has not yet normalized.A major portion of Ayeenabad is still under the water.

For more than a years the Chinese Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) has been working in Ayeenabad and the around the Attabad landslide debris to construct tunnels that would ultimately re-link the Karakuram Highway.
