KAISWO’s Champion Trophy-2014 concluded in Karachi

Karachi, May 4, 2014:  The eventful Karachi Champion Trophy-2014 was successfully concluded here on Sunday, 4th April, 2014 in Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan School Karim Abad Karachi. This was organized by Khana Abad Ismaili Students Welfare Organization (KAISWO) Karachi.The tournament was aimed at to engage our youth in a healthy competition through sporting activities so that all federating units and other like-minded organizations come together on a single platform to compete and cherish healthy competition in sports. This cricket tournament was spanned over five weekends starting on 6th April 2014 and concluded on 4th May 2014.

This year’s Karachi Champion Trophy was the 5th edition of its kind in the history of KAISWO. A total of 36 Karachi based teams of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral region along with local team participated in this championship. At the end of the tournament a grand final closing ceremony was held which was attended by Cabinet members of Hunza Gilgit Ismaili Student Federation (HGISF) along with office-bearers of all its federating units, donors, well wishers, Village elders and Karachi based Advisors in Khana Abad Ismailia Students Welfare Organization (KAISWO) Karachi.  Chief Guest was Mr. Khush Ahemd Din, the renowned social worker and General Secretary of Hunza Shinaki Multipurpose Society, Karachi while the guests of honor were Mr. Mr Anwer  and Mr. Naik Alam PhD Scholar from Khana Abad Hunza.

The closing ceremony was concluded by prize distribution to the Winners, runner-up and 3rd place teams. Chitral Young Fighters were declared as the Champions of the tournament while Northern Friends Cricket Club (NFCC) remained the runner-up and Turmahin United secured the 3rd position. Special awards and token of appreciation were also distributed among the best workers of the event along with Chief guest and Guests of honor. Mir Afzal declared player of the tournament while Hussain was declared as the Man of The Match. This eventful tournament was culminated with thrilling tunes of local music, singing, local dance and performance of the Aly Abad Orchestra along with the keynote address of Guest, Muhammad Karim Damino-President KAISWO and the vote of thanks from senior adviser of the KAISWO Mr. Sartaj Shah.

It is befitting to note it here that KAISWO is an active member organization of Hunza Gilgit Ismaili Students Federation (HGISF). And HGISF is a federation of more than eighteen youth-led Civil SocieOrganizations who are working for the holistic development of its youth and general members in targeted areas in Pakistan.
