People in Chilas threaten to block KKH, demand end to IK-TuQ strikes
Chilas, August 25: Religious leaders and activists of local groups in Chilas (Diamer) have threatened to block the Karakuram Highway in protest against the sit-ins being staged by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad. A protest demonstration was also held in Chitral today, in which speakers lambasted the leaders and workers of PTI and PAT for conspiring against the elected government. They also threatened to block the KKH in Chilas, if the sit-ins in Islamabad were not finished.
It is pertinent to note that just yesterday, on Sunday, did the protest of MWM, PMLQ and SIC end in Gilgit, where the road had been blocked for six days.
