Baab-al-Ilm school and hostel inaugurated in Barmas, Gilgit

Gilgit, September 7: The inaugural ceremony of Bab-al-ilm school and college was held today at Barmas, Gilgit, in the presence of a large number of people. The school and college will house children without parents (orphans) and it has been established by the Shia community. The inaugural ceremony was performed by Agha Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini, in the presence of religious and political leaders from different sects.
Speaking at the occasion, Agha Rahat said that the project has been completed at the cost of 30 million rupees (3 crore) in a very short span of time. He said that taking care of the orphans is one of the basic teachings of Islam. Agha said that the hostel is ready to house children from all sects.
In his speech, Maulana Noman Ali said that the opening of the beautiful building is a positive step. He emphasized on the need for forging unity between the people of different sects.
Alwaiz Aitmadi Fida Ali Aisar at the occasion, besides sharing his views, handed over a cheque to Agha Rahat, as a token of support from the Ismaili Regional Council for Gilgit.
Deputy Speaker Jamil Ahmad and Haider Abbas Abdi also spoke at the occasion, among others.
