Army Act 2015 extended to Giglit-Baltistan, Military Courts to be established soon

Islamabad/Gilgit: The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan has issued the notification for extending the amended Army Act of 2015 to the Gilgit-Baltistan region, after approval from PM Nawaz Sharif.
According to sources, the advice of the Law Ministry had been sought over the issue, which has justified extension of the law under section 47 of the Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment Order 2009, which make the federal government responsible for defense and security of the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
It is pertinent to note that the Gilgit-Baltistan region is under the ambit of the constitution of Pakistan and the region is being governed through a presidential order issued by Zardari in 2009. The Presidential Order had established a GB Council which is headed by the Prime Minister himself.
