Pensioners in Hunza-Nagar protest against district administration
Karimabad, April 6: Ex-soldiers, pensioners and their family members blocked the Zero Point in Karimabad (Hunza) in protest.
The protesters told Pamir Times that the district administration is not issuing them coupons for drawing pensions. They said that the issue has been pending for seven to eight months. They demanded of the district administration to issue coupons to the pensioners or the people authorized to draw the pensions.
“The district administration and the provincial government should facilitate these aged people in getting the pensions”, said Karim Khan, a local who was observing the protest. He added that instead of making the process easy for the pensioners, the authorities are making their lives more difficult for them, depriving them of what is rightfully theirs.
