Maiqaal village of Astore valley hit by flood

Astore, April 24: More than 40 houses were washed away by a flood in the Maiqal area of Astore District on Friday. According to details, the flood occurred after a lake in the valley topped over.

Several cattle pens and stores were also washed away. Hundreds of people are reportedly forced to stay under the open sky, without any help and shelter. A road connecting to the village has reportedly also been cut off.

The District Administration has yet to reach the disaster affected village and help the affected people, locals told the media.
