Passu: Search and rescue volunteers trained in rock and ice climbing

Passu, November 6: A four-day rock and ice climbing training came to an end today at Passu, Gojal, in the Hunza District. The event was arranged by FOCUS Pakistan to give the basic training to the volunteers of the Search and Rescue Team. 35 volunteer members from the entire Hunza district attended this training.

The training was imparted by renowned mountaineer Nazir Sabir, the conqueror of Everest and K2, and Afzal Sherazi and Tauqeer, well known Pakistani mountaineers.

The training’s closing ceremony was held at Sarai Silk route Hotel Passu where President of Ismaili Regional Council for Hunza, presidents of local councils, chairman of LSO and other notables and community leaders were present.
