Assembly Session: GB Wildlife Minister accused of illegally hunting two Ibexes
Gilgit: Opposition leader in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Shah Baig on Friday accused the sitting Forest and Wildlife Minister Haji Wakil of illegally hunting two Ibexes last month in a protected area.
He made the allegation during a question session on 3rd day of the assembly’s 7th sitting.
Forest and Wildlife Minister Haji Wakil responded by saying that he hunted legally after obtaining a license. To this Shah Baig responded by saying that the Wildlife Minister got license for one Ibex and hunted two. Haji Wakil, tacitly accepting the blame, said that the other Ibex was hunted mistakenly, and that he paid for it afterwards.
Shah Baig, the opposition leader, however, demanded an investigation into the issue, and insisted that the Wildlife minister be punished for what he termed ‘illegal hunting’.
