Amin Ullah Baig from Shimshal is the 3rd Pakistani to climb all five eight thousander peaks in Pakistan

Shimshal: With successful ascent to the top of the 8,051 meters high Broad Peak, Amin Ullah Baig from Shimshal valley has added another feather to his illustrious cap, as a mountaineer.

He is only the third Pakistani to climb all five eight thousander peaks in the country. He did this feat without using Oxygen, which is a reflection of his fitness and expertise.

Before him, only two other Pakistanis, Rajab Shah and Hassan Sadpara, have climbed all these five peaks.

Amin Ullah Baig has climbed the following peaks:

  1. Gasharbrum 2 (8,035 m), in 2000
  2. Gasharbrum 1 (8,080 m), in 2004
  3. Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), in 2009
  4. K2 – Choghori/Godwin Austin (8,611 m) in 20014
  5. Broad Peak (8,051 m), in 2017

Legendary mountaineers Rajab Shah and Hasan Sadpara, unfortunately, are not alive. So, Amin Ullah Baig has got the distinction of being the only alive Pakistani to have climbed all eight thousanders in the country.
