First Sarfa Ranga Desert Rally concluded, Babar Khan wins the top prize
Skardu: The first ever Sarfa Ranga Desert Rally concluded with Babar Khan emerging as the winner in “A” Category, completing the 30 kilometres long track in 18 minutes and 25.13 seconds. Qadir Nawaz Magsi stood second, with 18 minutes and 55:19 seconds. Mir Amer Magsi stood third (18:59.65).
The defending champion, Nadir Magsi stood fourth with a time of 19: 10.11.
73 four-wheelers competed in the ‘cold desert’ car rally. Bikers also competed. Competition of crossing the Indus river on a “Zakh”, traditional river-crossing method, was also held.
Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman presented prizes and gifts to the winners and participants.
The rally was organized by the GB Tourism Department, in collaboration with Pakwheels and Mountain Dew, along with a number of other sponsors/supporters.
