Wildlife officials free Falcon in Chitral, fine three hunters

Chitral: Wildlife officials here in Chitral on Monday released a Seeker Falcon in the Chitral Gol National Park. The bird was recovered from the possession three hunters who were detained by the officials.

The hunters were identified as Ghulam Nabi, Sikhawat and Ghulam Ishaque, residents of Peshawar.

The hunters were fined PKR. 30,000 under the Bio-Diversity Act 2015 for capturing the falcon and trying to smuggle it out of the valley.

Speaking at the occasion, District Forest Officer Ejaz Ahmad urged the community to keep an eye on poachers and hunters, and inform the Wildlife Department to ensure swift action and justice.
