US Delegation visits University of Baltistan, Skardu
SKARDU: (PR) Delegates from the US Department of States and embassy visited University of Baltistan, Skardu on Wednesday. The delegates included Dr. Laura Tedesco, Cultural Heritage Program Manager, Department of State, Washington D.C, Ms. Arlissa Reynolds, Country Cultural Attaché, and Mr. Syed Azfer Iqbal, Program Management Specialist, Embassy of the United States. The delegates met with the Senor Management of the university and discussed possible cooperation in various academic and research related partnerships.
Dr. Tedsco delivered a talk on “Career in the Field of Cultural Heritage Management” during a seminar at the university. Ms. Reynolds, the Country Cultural Attaché, and Mr. Iqbal, Program Manger US Embassy, also briefed the audience about various educational and exchange opportunities for students and faculty members in the USA. Faculty members, staff and students considered the seminar as an eye-opener for future collaborations in the areas of academia and research.
The delegates appreciated the enthusiasm of the management, faculty members, staff and students and mentioned that the new born university has a full potential to play a key role for the socio-economic and educational development of the region.
