Governor state bank visits Hunza
Hunza, June 08:The Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Shamshad Akhtar has applauded the efforts of community-based organisations for imparting skills and developing income generating opportunities for local women and other disadvantaged segment of the society. This, she said, during her visit to different projects of Karakoram Area development Organisation (KADO) in Hunza. Chief Operational Officer, First Micro Finance Bank was also accompanying her.
The Governor viisted Gems cutting and polishing center Karimabad and Sharma Rehabilitation center, Hyderabad. The viist was hosted by First Micro Finance Bank.
The Governor has also visited Sost and Aliabad branches of Micro Finance Bank, different village level financial institutions, village and women organisations and small enterpreneurs to find out economic and financial situation in the region to develop financial products for SMEs.
A group of local farmers also held a meeting with the Governor and requested to increase the agriculture loan limit for un-settled areas. They said that due to limited land holding the local farmers are unable to benefit from the loans of Agriculture Bank. The agriculture loan limit for settled areas is more than 2 lakh per kanal and for settled area only 8,000 per kanal.
