GILGIT: Gilgit Police on Sunday arrested four people on charges of involvement in the alleged murder of former MPA Farmas Khan, a resident of Kohistan district.
A police source Pamir Times that the ex-MPA was visiting the region to settle a land dispute. The disputed land is located in an area called Pari Bangla, 22 kilometers South of Gilgit city.
While the land dispute was being discussed, a scuffle broke out between a person identified as Shafi Ullah, a resident of Parri Bangla. The accused allegedly hit the deceased with a spade, due to which the former member of PK provincial assembly sustained head injuries. He was being shifted to Abbottabad for treatment when he breathed his last.
Relative of the deceased protested outside the Parri Bangla Police Station. Four people, including Shafi Ullah, were arrested and an investigation has been launched.
