Skardu: Pakitan Red Crescent provides relief to 41 flood affected families

Skardu (PR): Pakistan Red Crescent Gilgit-Baltistan has provided relief to over 41 families of village Gayul of Skardu district affected by flash flood in Burgay nala.

The relief goods were containing tarpaulin sheets, water cans, kitchen sets, oil stoves, buckets, hygiene kits and other items of domestic usage have been distributed by an emergency response team led by PRC District Secretary Skardu Mr. Baqir Hajee and DPO Mr. Zulfiqar Ali followed by the instructions from PRC GB Provincial Secretary Mrs. Noor-ul Ain.

Speaking on the occasion of relief distribution, PRC District Secretary Baqir Hajee said that the Pakistan Red Crescent is proactively involved to eliminate the sufferings of Gayul disaster with its response and relief activities in a professional manner so that the hurdles faced by the affected families could be removed.

He said a detailed assessment report has been sent to PRC Provincial and National Offices – identifying the basic necessities of the victims that could be helpful for provision of other relief services to the affectees.

He shown his profound grief and condolence over the loses of five precious human lives due to the disaster and conveyed PRC sympathies to the affectees on behalf of the Provincial and National management of the organization.

The flood affectees and communities of Gayul valley thanked PRC for joining hands with the sufferings of disaster and appreciated the humanitarian services of the organization.
