Gilgit – Baltistan to have OPF office soon

ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP): Government will  establish Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) office in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) soon to facilitate the Overseas Pakistanis and their families.This was stated by Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr.  Muhammad Farooq Sattar here Thursday while addressing a meeting with the elders of Gilgit-Baltistan, who joined MQM and belonged to Diamir of GB.Over 20 member delegation headed by Haji Abdul Aziz apprised the minister about the major problems of the areas and appealed for the early resolution of such problems.

Farooq Sattar said that all the problems of the people of GB would be resolved at earliest. He said to facilitate the people of the area by establishing other institutions, he himself will meet with  President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minster Yusuf Raza Gilani in this regard.

Head of the delegation of MQM members  Haji Abdul Aziz said that they had more expectation  from the leadership of his party and asked for establishing a new party office in Diamir.

Senator Syed Haidar Abbas Rizvi and other leaders of MQM were also present on the occasion.

  1. Positive steps by MQM towards GB. I am sure this party is going to have a greater footprint on the GB politics in near future and we should well come this party to make its way-in.
    Many people have been criticizing by regarding them as an ‘ethinical group’ but things have changed since. When we look at their national level decisions, I have found them a true ‘secular group’ of proletariat
