[Corruption] 28 illegally appointed teachers dismissed from service in Ghanche

PT Report

Skardu, May 12: The Education Ministry of Gilgit – Baltistan government, on instruction of GB Supreme Appellate Court, has revoked appointment letters of 28 teachers who had been appointed recently in the Ghanche District of Baltistan Division.

The decision has been hailed by public circles who have also demanded a fair probe into the processes that led to illegal appointment of more than two dozen teachers.

GB Education Minister, Ali Madad Sher, has told the media that those responsible for the illegal appointments will be brought to the book and cases will be registered against them. However, neutral sources believe that very senior politicians of GB may be involved in the illegal appointment scam.

“This is nothing more than tip-of-the-ice-berg”, a local journalist told Pamir Times. He said that hundreds of people had been appointed in different departments without following the due procedures. “In the case of these 28 teachers hundreds of thousands of rupees were involved”, he alleged.
