5 soldiers of Chitral Scouts injured, 7 Afghan militants killed

CHITRAL:  Hundreds of Chitralis staged a protest demonstration against the Afghan militants who had injured five Chitral Scouts troops on Saturday. The attack took place at Ursoon Post and the heavily armed militants had come from Nooristan province of Afghanistan.

Chitral Scouts Commandant told reports that the Scouts reacted strongly to the invaders and killed at least 7 militants, pushing them back to Afghanistan. According to reports the militants also take the dead bodied while fleeing.

The Commandant of Chitral Scout told the media that the five injured soldiers of Chitral Scout were shifted to DHQ Hospital Temergara in a military helicopter while in encounter firing 7 militants were killed.

The people have Chitral are enraged at the second militant attack carried out by the militants this year. Up to 48 soldiers of Chitral Scouts were killed a couple of months back in a similar terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, the residents of Drosh came out on the roads to register their protest against NATO’s attack on Pakistani soliders last week. The protesters chanted slogans against NATO and burnt an effigy to register their anger.
