Chitral, December 25: Activists of Insaf Students Federation (ISF), the youth wing of Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party, staged a protest demonstration today against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces based in Afghanistan.
The speakers expressed rage NATO for violating the border of Pakistan on multiple times. They also burnt an effigy tagged NATO, to express their anger. Speakers, including Dr. Shehzada Sardarul Mulk and PTI’s district president Abdul Latif, expressed complete solidarity with Pakistan Army.
The protesters demanded that the supply routes for NATO should not be re-opened.
It is pertinent to mention that NATO forces had killed 24 Pakistani soldiers at Salala Post near the Pak-Afghan border, an event that led to a meltdown of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Around 48 soldiers of Chitral Scout had also been murdered by forces based in Afghanistan, reportedly backed by the foreign troops also stationed in the same region.
Similar protests have also been staged in the past in Chitral against NATO and the Taliban forces. The Pakistan Army had moved in to Chitral after the tragic incident of cross-border-terrorism, the worst of its kind in the modern history of Chitral.
