Letter: KKH Slaughterhouse

“Despair not the mercy of God” (Al-Quran).

Bloodshed and slaughtering each other is all that we are left with. No mercy, no judgment, no equality only drives and designs of evil reign in the region of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Let’s pause  and ask ourselves. Whose fight is this? Is this the battle of God or it is the battle for God?

The fact is that a person or a group of people slays the opponents, considering it to be a divine intervention – in the name of God, and the result is that a stream of blood flows in all our valleys. Humanity seems to have lost its patience. In fact, a new specie is seemingly emerging in the disguise of human beings. This specie is thirsty of blood and murder. We have to coin another word instead of human beings sooner or later, to define this new species.

Repeated massacres on the road Karakoram Highway and other parts of the region depicts a horrifying image of humanity. The repeated incidents on the same route may also show numbness of the locals and government officials.

The people of Gilgit-Baltistan are significantly dependent on the karakoram highway. The security measures, if any, that have been taken up till now are totally futile and vulnerable to single agitation by a small group blocking the way, isolating above two million people. These handful of people also unleash their wrath, on some specified people.

It is time for officials to reassess the importance of this root for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in particular and people of Pakistan, in general, and save the people of Gilgit-Baltistan form this brutality
