Chilas, Nov 4: Speakers at a seminar organized by Diamer Youth Movement said that around 55% children of Diamer district are out of the schools.

Speakers at the seminar said that the backwardness of Diamer district is a result of the non-serious attitude of the elected representatives and social leaders, who have failed to take measures to increase literacy rate in the district.

Speakers said that the children of Diamer are highly talented and given an opportunity they can easily compete with children across Gilgit-Baltistan.

The speakers also said that without providing justice to the people and without ensuring respect for teachers, the society cannot progress.

The efforts of Diamer Youth Movement to highlight the cause of education and draw attention towards the elements hindering the region’s development were hailed by all the speakers.

The session was attended by social and political leaders, as well officials of the district administration.

  1. I appreciate the efforts of youth of Diamer on organizing of awareness sessions regarding lack of education and knowledge in the District. It is a big question that still 50% of the children are out of school that cases very social problems.First It is the responsibility of the Government to open new schools and NGOS to support the in teachers training.
