Security: Gilgit city divided into 17 sectors, CM meets security personnel

Gilgit, Nov 18: The Gilgit city has been divided into 17 sectors and each sector is being looked after by the police under the leadership of a DSP rank officer. This was stated today during a briefing in Gilgit, while the Chief Minister, Syed Mehdi Shah, was touring the city and meeting the security personnel, along with the Chief Secretary and GB Information Minister, Ali Madad Sher.
DIG Ali Sher also informed the CM about the security arrangements to stop any untoward incident from happening during the month of Moharram. He said that number of security personnel has been increased and the entry and exit points of the city are being checked to stop possible infiltration of terrorist groups. Several people have also been rounded up from different parts of the city on suspicion.
The CM instructed the law enforcing agencies to ensure safety of the lives and properties of the people at all costs. He also instructed the police and administration to stay alert and provide full security to the processions and Majalis.
It is good decision to gives protect for the Hussaini Azadars of Gilgit city.
