“Tug of war” competition held in Chitral

CHITRAL: Tug of war is a famous and popular game of Chitral, liked by young and old, alike. The excitement and enthusiasm demonstrated by spectators and “tug-warriors” at an event organized by the District Youth Organization (DYO) in collaboration with the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, where teams from Singor and Faizabad competed.

Titular Mehtar of Chitral Fatihul Mulk Ali Nasir was chief guest on the occasion. Singor defeated Faizabad team and won the trophy. The chief guest Fatihul Mulk Ali Nasir announced  cash prizes for the players and stressed on revival and sustenance of the region’s unique traditions.
