Election in LA-9 Skardu: Ten candidates, one seat

Gilgit, April 9: The Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission has announced names of ten candidates who have submitted their paper to contest in the by-elections to be held for LA-9, Skardu.

According to a list issued here by Election Officer Khursheed Ahmed, the nomination papers of former Deputy Chief Executive Haji Fida Muhamamd Nashad, Shabbir Akbar, Muhammad Abdullah, Niaz Ali, Amjad Ali, Syed Abbas Ali Mosovi, Mansoor Ali, Wazir Muhammad Saleem, Ghulam Raza Haideri and Haji Hassan have been declared correct, fonfirming their candidature for the election.

The seat had been vacated after the resignation of former Law Minister, Wazir Shakil, who joined the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court as a judge.
