Wali Sisters all set to compete in qualifying round of Winter Olympics

Islamabad: Already famous for their skiing endeavors and medals obtained at the South Asian Games held in 2011, the Wali sisters from Gilgit-Baltistan are now all set to compete in the qualifying round of the upcoming Winter Olympics.

If successful, they will become the first Pakistani females to qualify for the Winter Olympics. It is pertinent to note that Muhammad Abbas from GB had qualified for the Winter Olympics last year, becoming the first Pakistani to achieve that feat.

The Wali sister, Ifrah and Amina, are young and highly talented. They originally belong to the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, but their family is settled in Gilgit city for several decades.

They have attributed their success to the encouragement of their parents and family members as well as hard work, dedication and love for the sports.
