18th anniversary of Radio Pakistan Gilgit’s Wakhi language programme celebrated

Gilgit, November 3: 18th anniversary of the launching of Wakhi Barnoma, Sadoye Bome Dunyo (Voice of the roof of the world) was celebrated yesterday at Radio Pakitan, Gilgit.

The event was attended among others by Alam Khan, Radio Pakistan’s Regional Director, Abuzar Ali, Chairman of Wakhi Tajik Cultural Association, Sarfaraz, renowned social figure, Dr. Sher Dil Khan and Wajid Ali.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.

It is pertinent to note that Radio Pakistan Gilgit operates programmes in regional languages, including Shina, Burushaski, Wakhi and Khowar.
