Football in the snow: Gojal Champions League concluded

Gulmit, January 20: Gulmit Young Stars club won the Gojal Champions League, beating Team Ghulkin in the final match, 2-0. The match was played in sub-zero temperature while the ground was still covered in snow.
Final match of the league started by the Gulmit Young Stars Club had been delayed for more than a week due to heavy snowfall in the region. The final match was witnessed by a small but energetic crowd from Ghulkin and Gulmit.
Karim Salman from Ghulkin was declared man of the series while Hidayat Shah from Gulmit became the man of the final match.
Teams from different villages of Gojal Valley, including Ghulkin, Hussaini, Passu and Moorkhun, participated in the tournament played at the football ground of the Boys High School, Gulmit.
The match was stopped for a while due to a quarrel between some of the players and the audience. However, the issue was resolved and the match continued.
