Poetry website ‘Umang’ features Wakhi language song, with translation
Islamabad: A newly launched website, “Umang” features a Wakhi language poem about the majestically beautiful Passu village, which has in the past been the victim of many natural disasters.
Written by Shahid Akhtar, the Wakhi language song eulogizes the people and the land of Passu, while also lamenting the great losses it had to face due to the outburst of a glacial lake in the Shimshal Valley. While lamenting the great losses, the poem also gives the message of hope and happiness.
You can read the song in Wakhi, Urdu and English (translations) on Umang website.
Umang also features poetry and translations in Sindhi and Urdu, with English translation.
People can register on the website and share contributions.
