[Video] ‘Morek Thay Nay’, latest Shina music album, launched

Islamabad: The latest poetry of renowned Shina and Urdu language poet, Zafar Waqar Taj, was launched in the form of an audio album titled “Morek Thay Nay” during the recently concluded Peace and Pluralism Festival.

Salman Paras, a magical voice from Astore district of Gilgit-Baltistan, has sung the beautifully composed songs.

Speaking at the launching ceremony Zafar’s father Abdul Khaliq Taj, himself a well-known poet of Shina and Urdu, said that in this album historical melodies have been preserved.

Salman Paras presented the album’s title track during the launching ceremony. The video can be watched above.

Shina is one of the largest villages spoken in Gilgit-Baltistan. It is spoken and understood in all seven districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and some neighbouring regions including Gurez.
