Unmet Demands: Professors and Lecturers to start boycott of classes from Oct 2 in Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit, October 1: Unable to get approval for time-scale promotion and demands, the Gilgit-Baltistan Professors and Lectures Association (GBPLA) have planned to start boycott of classes in the region, starting tomorrow (2nd of October 2014).
According to a press release, the decision was taken today at meeting of the association, headed by Professor Muhammad Zaman.
Teaching process in the colleges will remain halted, said the press release.
The GBPLA has been demanding promotions, perks and privileges for the last many years. However, despite of umpteen promises by various government officials, the demands remain unmet.
The GBPLA plans to continue the boycott of classes till issuance of notification for promotions and pay raise.
