Neglected: GB Council members announce boycott of budget session

Islamabad: Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Council have blasted the federal government for ignoring them and routinely postponing scheduled meetings. They have accused the Nawaz Sharif Sarkar of ignoring the GB Council because there’s no PMLN representation in the body.

Addressing a press conference here in Islamabad, Advocate Amjad Ali and others said that they will not attend the budget session of the GB Council in protest.

It is pertinent to note that GB Council is an Islamabad centric body headed by the Prime Minister, having six members from GB and 7 from other parts of Pakistan.

The GB Council members have also accused PMLN of forming a large cabinet to rig the upcoming elections. Similar allegations have also been levelled by PPP and MQM in the past.
