Details about passengers of the MI-17 chopper that crashed in Naltar

Gilgit: The MI-17 chopper that crashed in Naltar Valley of Gilgit today had 20 people on board, according to an official source. 9 out of the 20 people, including six foreigners – ambassadors and their wives, have passed away, while the rest are injured and under treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Gilgit.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army has said that the chopper crashed after developing some technical fault.

The details received through Abdul Rehman Bukhari, a Gilgit based journalist, are;

  • Ambassador of Norway (Deceased) and wife (injured)
  • Ambassador of Philippine and wife (Both Deceased)
  • Ambassador of Malaysia and wife (Deceased)
  • Ambassador of Indonesia (Seriously injured) and Wife (Deceased)
  • Ambassador of Romania, injured. Under treatment at CMH, Gilgit
  • Ambassador of South Africa, injured. Under treatment at CMH, Gilgit
  • Ambassador of Lebanon, injured. Under treatment at CMH, Gilgit
  • Ambassador of Argentina, seriously injured. Under treatment at CMH, Gilgit
  • Ambassador of Poland, injured. Under treatment at CMH, Gilgit
  • Three crew members, two pilots and a technical staff, have also passed away
