Gilgit airport to be renamed after freedom war hero Group Captain Shah Khan

Gilgit: The Gilgit-Batlsitan Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution to honor the freedom war hero Group Captain Shah Khan by renaming the capital’s only airport after him. The resolution was presented by Parliamentary Secretary for Law, Aurganzeb Khan, and unanimously passed.

Group Captain Shah Khan, who joined Pakistan Air Force, after the culmination of the 1947-48 freedom war, died on 19th November at the age of 92. He was buried in the premises of the GBLA, near the monument of martyrs.
