20 years old girl shot dead

Gilgit: A 20-years old girl was shot dead last night at around 8 p.m inside her house located in the Jalalabad village of District Gilgit.

Police sources have said that the girl was killed by her brother for ‘honor’. The girl’s brother, Rafaqat Ali, has been arrested on charges of murder, said police.

The number of cases related to violence against women have been on the rise in the GB region.

On 1st April a man was arrested in the Hudur valley of Diamer district for opening fire on her sister and trying to kill her. On 9th March a man was arrested in Ghanche for sexually abusing an eight year old girl.
