Gilgit, March 30: Overshadowed by the massive landslide that killed 19 people in Attabad – Hunza, miseries of the people of Ghochar Dayeen are not able to attract attention of the masses and government. Ghochar may very well be the second Attabad in making because here too the land is moving and cracks have developed that pose great threat to life and property.
On advice of an NGO, FOCUS, six families have left their houses and are living in fifteen tents provided by the said NGO. Total population of the village is 180. The village has been declared risky for life and rest of the population will soon need to be shifted to tents or alternate living space.
A female student of Ghochar, Zohra, told journalists that the displaced people are living in miserable conditions and the government shall pay attention to their sufferings.

Ghizer is the Most Beoutifull and papolar Dist of Gilgit Baltistan.
This is another dangerous situation,which is developing. I have also heard that this problem has also been detected in Hayool Nala of Chatorkhand village,which is situated on the left side of Ishkoman river in the opposite direction of Ghochar.
The member of the area should bring these problems to the notice of higher authorities so that timely arrangements could be made for evacuation of the affected people without loss of life and movable property.
The learning from Attababd disater reveals that the governament must come up with alternative/s for rehabilitation of IDPs. Getting people out of such locations without offering permanent alternative/s have negativers consequences. However, timely mitigation steps prevents loss of human lives and may be other assets. Managemnt of natural disaster issues are very much role of the government but FOCUS takes the lead in such situations and the staff deserves our appriciation.
Taking care of the IDPs (indegious people) in Ishkomen valley is most needed.

about six months ago the land of Hayool valley Chator Khand and Gochhar Dain
Ishkoman Ghizar was demolished due to some geological matters.1500 kanal of cultivated land at hayool is totally damaged and 17 houses destroyed.totally 35 families affected at hayool and 23 families at Gochhar Dain.according to geologists of FOCUS the area is risky.so the NGO have provide the shelter to IDPs of Gochhar.the government authorities have no taken steps yet.
The DC Ghizar distribut a blanket and a CHATAI(3×4 feet size)
IDPs still waiting to any help.

we all should play our due role to help those suffering and if some of us are still unaware of what the people are suffering then they should know that one day they may need help as we all are residing on the same belt which is in danger. and this sad story of chathorkhand further verifies this truth.
The innocent people of village Sholja (Chatorkhand) and Goshar (Dain) badly affected due to unexpected circumstances. They lost their properties and now displaced in other villages. We request to the member of Legislative Council of the area to facilitate the affected people with the help of community and government.

The matter of Daine (Ghochar) and Chatorkhand (Hayaool) Nallah’s matter has been brought under the notice of our representative Pir Syed Karam Ali Shah, the Government authorities and AKDN NGO FOCUS.
Whatever the Government has done in reference to Daine and Chatorkhand Disaster, Mr. Karim Ranjah has well elaborated the real situation.
Once upon a time Dr. Sabit Rahim was in Planning and Commission Department of Government of Pakistan at Islamabad who with the coordination of our representaive Pir together could have made protective bands at the dangerous locations of all rivers and streams of Ishkoman valley. Sorry to say to Dr. Sabit Rahim and our Representative did nothing to protect our area nor our Valley, what will be done in the future ????.
Dr. Sabit Rahim belongs to Ishkoman and could guide our representatives. Now his home town is effected by current flood so he has felt the problems of our area.
What our representative did in current flood which caused damages of land , property, infrastructures particularly Birgal, Chatorkhand, Pakora, and many other parts of Ishkoman.
People did voluntarily work through self help to create obstacle for flood to not enter to villages. None of army or other agencies were called by the Government.
The affected people have lost their homes and property and they need food and tents. The infrastructure is collapsed and there is chronic shortage of food and fuel since over a month.
Mr. Karim please update the real situation of flood of Irishwoman Valley and what have done by Government or Other Agencies.
I inform Mr. Maeherban Khan that the matter is already in the table of our rep Pir and also concerned Department of government.
I request to all youth to join Ghizar youth Movement or create Own youth Forum to work voluntarily and arrangements made to affects and mobilize Government to start work immediately because there is proverb.
